Will we be a good fit?

We will be a good fit if you are ready for something deeper and want to see tangible results

You're tired of therapy that feels like just talking about your week.

You’re seeking a new approach that is collaborative, structured and focused

You know the power of therapy, but you’re ready for a process that is more focused on "how you got here"

You don’t mind - and maybe even enjoy - honest feedback about your stuck points.

You’re ready for therapy that’s about you understanding YOU!

What should I expect from sessions

You can expect your therapy sessions to be a safe, supportive, and confidential space where your well-being is the primary focus. Here’s the structure you can anticipate:

  • Session Length: Standard sessions last 53-60 minutes, but this can be adjusted if discussed in advance with your therapist. Most sessions are scheduled on the hour. Being a few minutes late is understandable; but after 10 minutes, the session is marked as a no show :(

  • Therapeutic Focus: Your therapist will work collaboratively with you to explore your thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and experiences. Therapy may involve discussion, skill-building, reflection, and strategies for managing challenges.

  • Safety and Confidentiality: Your privacy is taken seriously. While some exceptions apply (e.g., for minors or mandated reporting), confidentiality is upheld. This includes documentation that maybe seen by insurance being anti-discriminatory and minimal details necessary.

  • Honest Communication: AMEC Therapists value honest dialogue. You are encouraged to bring up concerns, goals, or feedback about your therapy experience at any time.

  • No Crisis Services: Sessions are not designed for emergency situations. In a crisis, you are advised to contact 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

  • Optional Telehealth: You can attend virtually if needed, provided you're located in Pennsylvania and in a private, stationary setting.

Each session is an opportunity to work toward greater understanding, healing, and personal growth in a nonjudgmental environment.
